THE GODFREY HOTEL BOSTON

CASE STUDY

Godfrey Hotel Boston

Location: Boston
Rooms: 242
Restaurants: 1

OPPORTUNITY

The resurgence of Boston’s Downtown Crossing neighborhood invited transformation of the city’s historic Amory and Blake building into a new and stylish hotel with the perfect blend of sophistication and trendiness to fit its surroundings.

CHALLENGE

Preserving the authentic qualities of the neighborhood was of utmost importance, while also developing a hotel that would excite the community and ride the momentum of the area’s recent growth.

SOLUTION

Oxford worked closely with the local community to ensure the end result was well received. The Godfrey pays tribute to Boston’s longstanding heritage, featuring pre-war brick and stone façades in a Gothic Revival style, but also implementing modern and chic details to provide guests with a comfortable and trendy experience in one of the city’s prime locations.

RESULT

Oxford has built the Godfrey brand (meaning “peace and welcome”) into a premier travel destination in several cities across the U.S. The Boston location blends that peace and welcome with the dynamic Downtown Crossing character.
