OPPORTUNITY

As one of the most architecturally significant buildings on Chicago’s riverfront, the historic Mies van der Rohe landmark tower was an ideal candidate to house a luxury hotel with a modern and upscale theme. Oxford joined Langham Hotels and Resorts to launch the hotel chain’s third and most extravagant U.S. location.

CHALLENGE

The reputation and significance of both the Mies van der Rohe building and The Langham brand made this a major project requiring the highest of standards in quality and refinement. Creating a world-class hospitality experience in a purpose-built office structure presented unique challenges.

SOLUTION

Oxford and its partners worked closely on every aspect of The Langham’s development to ensure impeccable results, keeping in mind the goal of making the hotel not only a luxurious location for guests, but also a magnificent testament to the building’s legacy.

RESULT

The Langham Chicago is now Forbes’ newest five-star hotel and was named the #1 Luxury Hotel in the US for 2016, as well as the winner of multiple additional awards for its services and amenities.
